Beginning in 2002 through completion, Rise Alaska provided full project management services for the Anchorage Museum Expansion, designed by David Chipperfield Architects to encourage an appreciation for the Museum’s extraordinary natural surroundings. The Rise team worked closely with the project team, the Museum Building Committee and Museum staff to provide management of all aspects of the planning, design, construction, commissioning, LEED application, exhibition development, staff/collections moves and operations transition. Rise developed the plan of finance and was instrumental in securing state and federal support, as well as passage of a municipal bond for increased annual operations support.
Rise is delighted to continue as the Museum’s Owner’s Representative for the Arctic Studies Center ethnographic exhibition of over 600 Alaska Native artifacts on long-term loan from the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of the American Indian and the National Museum of Natural History, as well as the new Imaginarium Discovery Center, including the Thomas Planetarium, all scheduled for completion in spring 2010.
